Stewardship, 2nd Edition, is a personal finance curriculum taught from a biblical perspective. With Steve Demme’s signature humility, humor, and sharp math skills, practical math instruction is combined with Biblical principles of finance and discipleship material. This edition is updated with current topics relevant to young people aged 15 and older, who are beginning to explore more independent financial opportunities and responsibilities.
Mr. Demme, I have to comment on your new Stewardship program. We had the old one (that our older 6 kids used) and bought the new one (on sale!) a year or so ago. I am so glad we did! The old one was good, but the new one is even better, just like you said it would be. 🙂 Our 3 teen sons (one with special needs who I knew would be unable to do any of the math in the workbook, but he still watched all the lessons) did Stewardship last year together. They always get a kick out of your sense of humor and stories. You make it fun, which reaches hearts and minds. And you had so much good information and questions for them to ask us and grandparents and adult siblings and mentors. It’s SO nice for them to hear the same information we share but from someone else they really enjoy and respect. Thank you!

Curriculum Overview
“Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Luke 12:34)
Stewardship is consumer math taught from a biblical perspective, written by the author of the successful Math-U-See curriculum, Steve Demme. With his signature humility, humor, and sharp math skills, Steve combines practical math instruction with Biblical principles of finance and discipleship material.
This new revision is updated with current topics relevant to young people aged 15-17, who are beginning to explore more independent financial opportunities and responsibilities
Consumer Math Topics Include:
|
Biblical Topics Include:Biblical Principles to Govern Our Treasure
Scripture Studies to Instruct Our Heart
|
Thirty-six lessons are organized into a weekly format, with five worksheets per lesson. Each lesson includes ten questions: seven problems about the lesson’s consumer math topics, two from the Biblical Principles and Scripture Studies, and one designed to facilitate family discussion. While much of the content in this curriculum is directly from Steve’s own experience, he recognizes that students can learn a great deal from the combined wisdom of their parents and grandparents.
Stewardship is structured in a similar fashion to the Math-U-See program. After watching Steve present the new material on the video portion, students and/or parents can read the written instructions. When the new material has been mastered, students can move at their own pace through the worksheets and check their work with the complete solutions included in the Instruction Manual.
One feature of this edition is encouragement to read short daily selections from the Old and New Testaments. Steve’s frank and open style is appealing to students of all ages and his advice has practical, real-world applications. He ties this together with descriptions of how his relationship with God has changed over the years and encouragement to determine how to apply Scripture to life circumstances.
